 | Should school Sats be scrapped? The National Union of Teachers has voted to ballot members over the boycott of primary school Sats tests. Is it time to re-think testing of young children?
Members of the NUT meeting in Cardiff chanted "no more sats" as they voted unanimously to ballot on a boycott of tests for seven and eleven-year-olds next year.
Union leaders say the tests are damaging to pupils and demean staff.
The government says it will review Sats but will not scrap them arguing that the tests are as vital for parents and schools.
Do children between the ages of 7 and eleven need to be tested? Who benefits from the testing? Are you a parent of children taking Sats or a teacher preparing pupils for testing? What are your experiences? Parents who want these are those who never did/want to work hard with their children and teachers who support them are the ones who are no good for their jobs. Tomorrow there will be a outcry for children to be born without bones coz the bones BREAK. Britain please stop bringing up over protected children or tomorrow we will have no choice but build iron houses with no window. Huma, Manchester | | |
